Zacherle's 1958 Cameo novelty hit, a gruesome dinner-party recitation over a rock and roll beat, which reached No. 6 on the Billboard pop chart. Dick Clark found the first take too gory, so a tamer version was cut and both ended up on the same 45 as Parts 1 and 2.
Performance tips
- Recite it in your best horror-host voice and savor the gross-out lines.
- Let the band riff while you deliver the spoken word.
