Eagles' cover of the 1960 Charles Brown blues Christmas song, released as a single in late 1978 with Don Henley on lead vocals. It became a US top 20 hit, a rare feat for a Christmas song at the time.
Performance tips
- Sing it slow and bluesy with a little ache, Henley-style.
- Keep the verses relaxed and let the longing build into the bridge.
- Don't rush the ending; let the last line hang before the band wraps up.
