Garage rock Christmas song written by Gerry Roslie and recorded by the Sonics in Tacoma for Etiquette Records' 1965 compilation LP Merry Christmas, shared with the Wailers and the Galaxies. The album was quickly withdrawn over a rights problem with another track, and the song was never issued as a 45 until a 1998 Norton reissue.
Performance tips
- Scream it raw like Gerry Roslie; garage rock is about grit, not polish.
- Keep it loud and short and attack the vocals.
- The crowd will feed off your energy, so go all in.
